Financial Bragging Rights…
I never noticed the weight of borrowed money. Payments had become an expected part of my life and I didn’t think I would notice or care if one was gone.
I was wrong.
Ever since I paid off my car, I can’t look at it without smiling. It feels different to drive something I actually own.
Realistically, I wish this excitement would die down a little. I’ve been a little loud mouthed about my recent debt step.
It’s bad enough when friends and family ask you to please shut up about the car but when I pull through a drive up food joint just so I say, ‘Hi, this car is paid off… and I’d like a bean burrito’, I’ve got to put an end to it.
It’s a good feeling – Taco Bell employees will just have to suffer a while longer.

You go ahead and brag all you want to.
You’ve accomplished something huge – Taco Bell can suffer.

Um, Beks…. I tell EVERYONE when I’ve simply made a payment on a card. You do what ever makes you feel good! Your family and friends will just have to deal with it. And as for Taco Bell, I’d like a Chicken Supreme Gordita, por favor!

Don’t worry, I did the same thing. It’s been over a year and I still grin!

I love adding a paid off vehicle to the list of “assets”.
