Missing my TV…
I’m halfway through my week without TV.
I wish I could say this was a great experience but… I’ve never been a particularly good liar. I miss Judge Judy and Grey’s Anatomy.
I weeded my garden, cleaned out my pantry, washed and folded my laundry on the same day (a personal record), filed for a reduction in my property taxes, paid bills, read three issues of Time Magazine, and scrubbed every inch of my kitchen. All by Tuesday.
I’m utterly confused on my train ride home and not because the guy next to me is screaming for no known reason (I’m kind of used to him now). I’m baffled as to what to do with my time. I have to constantly think of new chores.
I’m… *gasp*…productive.

Getting rid of the TV saves a ton of time! Too bad I live with other people – otherwise I’d get rid of the TV immediately! Reading is so much better

You know if you start doing so many productive things your husband will know what you’re capable of. You need to stay a little below the bar otherwise they raise it:)

Good for you!! I turned my TV off Dec 27th, 2008 at 9:20am because I got disgusted with it. I read and listen to radio constantly. It is tough at times but amazing what you can get done.

All of you folks who give up TV inspire me. I didn’t have cable until I moved in with FH and I’m pretty busy so I don’t watch too much, but if the Barefoot Contessa is on Tivo, I get sucked in and will watch Food Network.

In my opinion TV really takes a lot of time and that you can spend the time usefully! In fact, much more useful to go where a walk than sit on the couch and watch TV!
