Internet hooky…
Our internet has recently been spouting messages of ‘Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage’ and ‘You are not connected to the internet’. It’s not inconvenient at all.
Unless you pay 90% percent of your bills online and your budget software is also online…
Like mine.
So, that fabulous debt update I had is… not ready. I’ve been trying for the last three days to get the pay off amount for my car. Sure, I could do something crazy like call the loan company… but I’d rather complain about the internet service.
On occasion, when our wireless router is on the fritz, we ‘borrow’ the neighbors’ service. Theirs has been coming and going for the last two weeks as well… that or they are on to us.
I can’t exactly call the internet company and complain about the service for the house somewhere within 50 feet of mine without wireless security blocks now can I?
I would call to complain about mine but I think our problems are related to the 5 year old pile of plastic enclosed microchips and the creaky hard drive known as my computer.
The financial lesson in this one – if I can get 5 seconds of service to publish this – is:
DON’T RELY ON THE INTERNET! I have no back-ups or account information in my home. All my bills are e-bills and I have no idea what I could miss paying!

Yay! Go laptops. Not that they solve the whole problem…but they make connecting to internet connections easier.

That happened to me and I had to get a new computer. My DH said I killed the last one on purpose:) Good thing I purchased it before I started FPU!
