It must be easy to be ‘naturally’ thin…
I hear that a lot.
But anyone can be thin. Let me tell you how.
Push carts, work hard, and either forget to eat or… remember to eat and also remember you don’t have the money to eat.
So yes. It is easy to be thin. I guess. But this isn’t ‘natural’ folks.
I find myself looking at weight loss products out of habit and trying to figure out how I can afford them. People get insulted.
Oops. I guess I forget that those items aren’t really a necessity…. especially at 125.
BUT…
I have found a few ways to eat healthy and realistically with little money but trust me… trans fats are way cheaper than veggies. Here are a few tips to avoid having to buy cheap fatty foods:
I’ve found that coupons from the paper aren’t really that big of a savings on food products.
I save far more by buying store brands and searching grocery ads for sales.
When I find a good sale on meat products, I buy several packages and freeze what I don’t plan on using immediately. I still focus on healthy protein. Even if the 80/20 ground beef is on special, I avoid it. Good health is more valuable than cheap food. If I can’t afford at least the 90/10, I won’t buy meat at all. Even better, I try to buy turkey meat or chicken if at all possible.
I also plan my week in meals based on recipes that require several of the same ingredients so I can spend far less. I recycle without repeating.
Example: Cooked chicken with vegetables on day one turns into chicken Caesar salad on day two and chicken pasta on day three.
I buy food in unexpected places. Target and Walmart sell cereals, milk, and bread for far less than your local grocery store. Just remember… you must leave with ONLY these products. A CD player or a new DVD negates the savings. I MAY, theoretically of course, have figured that out the hard way.

I’ve found that beans are a good, cheap source of protein. And if you think far enough in advance, you can soak dried beans overnight and use them just like you would use canned beans. That’s cheaper too.
